When it comes to a fun-packed day out with kids in London (or anywhere!) re-fueling with a decent food stop is essential to prevent hangry tantrums. This is where the humble (and not so humble) burger comes into play! Whether it's a vegan, a mighty bacon cheese, or a meat filled bun-and-patty-number you're after, we know where to get all the best burgers in London. Eyes on the fries, parents.
The Patate
The Patate kicked off its burger deliciousness at Camden Market but has now moved into two digs of its own in Covent Garden and Clerkenwell. This is one of our top picks for real burger connoisseurs: its signature beef bourguigon and raclette burger is literally the stuff made of meaty heaven. Suddenly feeling rather peckish...
The Patate, 59-61 Rosebery Ave, London EC1R 4SD and 55 Neal St, London WC2H 9PJ
Burger and Beyond
Not only does Burger and Beyond serve up the phenomenal Bacon Butter Burger, but all of its beef comes from its own farm: Herons Farm in Colchester. Don't forget to add some 'dirty tots' to your order, and for the more adventurous in the famalam, its hot sauce is delish. Head to its restaurant in Shoreditch or its van at Camden Market, but either way, come hungry. It also has several more outlets in the pipeline so keep your eyes peeled.
Burger and Beyond, 147 Shoreditch High Street, London, E1 6JE or street food van at Camden Market
Bleecker Burger
Bleecker Burger - dreamt up and brought to life by lawyer-turned-burger-virtuoso, Zan Kaufman - is where you and the kiddos should be heading for a cheeseburger to beat off those hanger pangs. Our fave has to be the Blue Burger - we're talking double patties ladled with blue cheese, onions and house sauce - although the bacon cheeseburger really hits the right spot too. Veggies in the fam? No prob: plump for a delish Symplicity Burger - a ten day fermented deep-fried veggie patty with American cheese, onion, lettuce and house sauce. Oh, and extra points for its beef coming from rare-breed, pasture-fed animals that come exclusively from small British farms.
Bleecker Burger, Spitalfields Market, Victoria, Bloomberg Arcade and Westfield White City locations
Mother Flipper
Flippin' heck! You'll have to head to Brockley or Victoria Markets for one of the best burgers in London: the Mother Flipper Cheeseburger, and even if it means making a small detour to track down its mighty burger vans, we can promise you it's utterly worth it. We're also rather partial to The Candy Flipper, which has a star ingredient of bacon fried in maple syrup: burger wizardry. Wash it all down with a hibiscus and lime ice tea, we say.
Mother Flipper, Brockley Market, Lewisham College Car Park, Lewisham Way, Brockley SE4 1UT (Saturdays) and Victoria Market (Sundays), 56-57 Gore Road, South Hackney, London E9 7HN
Honest Burgers
With its ever-changing specials and its chopped never minced beef, Honest Burger is the home of, well, a fantastic, honest burger. Our pick of the menu? The mouthwatering Halloumi Burger: we're talking honest beef, bacon, American cheese, halloumi, smoked bacon, smashed avocado, harissa mayo, rocket and pink pickled onions. So much 'hell, yeah'.

Patty and Bun
If you're not feeling beefy, then head to a Patty & Bun for what we consider to be one of the best chicken burgers in town. The Hot Chic Chicken Burger is superb, and the side order of great service that it comes with only adds to a fam-friendly meal that'll have you all clucking with happiness. There's plenty of beef on the menu too if that's your thang, as well as gluten-free and plant-based picks too.

Hard Rock Café
Yes, it's a wee bit cheesy, but we love cheese with our burgers anyway, and when it comes to dining out with the famalam in tow, Hard Rock is a dinner winner every time. The Legendary Burger is as tasty as it is legendary, plus the rather large cocktail menu definitely helps mama forget what toads the kids were before you stopped for dinner. Its running some cool offers at the moment, but don't forget you can only dine in groups of six.

Street Burger
Heading up the 'sleb chef burger options for us is the delectable offerings, at surprisingly reasonable prices, at Gordon Ramsay's Street Burger. We recently took our own hard-to-please teenager there for his birthday (that's him looking moody but secretly loving life above), and it was a family winner all round. The boys plumped for the #Baeburger while I went for a delish J.F.C Chicken Burger. At £16 for a burger, fries and unlimited soft drink, you can't go wrong.

Cut + Grind Burgers
At Cut + Grind not only are they utterly upfront about what goes in to your burger, but the ketchup is made in-house, pickles are prepared every week and of its prime beef cuts are blended and ground in-house too. It's also the home of one of our fave vegan options: The Miso Aubergine Burger! Combining glazed aubergine with kimchi, cucumber slaw and gochujang vegan mayo served up in a carrot and turmeric bun, this burger with an Asian twist is fantastic. Also, do yourselves a flavour and add a side order of its Truffle Mac & Cheese when ordering as a family: a winner every time with the fussy kids. www.cutandgrindburgers.com; Canal Reach, London N1C 4BD
