This is not one for younger kids — but if you’ve got older teens (15+) who love being scared senseless, Paranormal Activity: The Theatre Show absolutely needs to be on your radar, so here's our honest review on this spook-fest.
Based on the film franchise but reworked brilliantly for the stage, this is one of those rare theatre experiences where you genuinely forget you’re sitting in a seat. It’s tense, clever, and packed with how on earth did they do that? moments. We had multiple literal “leave your seat” jumps — and judging by the gasps around us, we weren’t alone.
The age limit is there for a reason. This isn’t silly spooky fun; it’s properly unsettling, with sustained tension, sudden shocks, and a creeping sense of dread that builds and builds. Older teens who love horror will be completely hooked. Parents… you might find yourself gripping the armrest.
What really stands out is how immersive it feels without ever being gimmicky. Lighting, sound, staging — all of it works together to keep you on edge from start to finish. It’s smart, it’s intense, and it’s incredibly effective. The also set deserves a special mention because it’s seriously clever. What looks simple at first quickly becomes something else entirely, with smart use of space and effects that constantly wrong-foot you. Paired with a small but stellar cast, the whole thing feels incredibly tight and controlled. Every performance is spot-on, carrying huge tension without ever tipping into overacting. It’s impressive how much atmosphere and fear they generate with so few people on stage — and that just makes the shocks land even harder.
This is a limited run, and it’s one of those shows people will be kicking themselves for missing. If you’ve got horror-loving teens and want a genuinely memorable theatre night, do not miss this.
